Guide to Homemade Videos YouTube for the Technologically Retarded

Are you making a YouTube video?
do you have an apple mac?
here's how i have done mine (yeah yeah, they're not very good but i don't want you to make the same mistakes i did).
I recorded the video clips on my olympus camera in video mode, then uploaded them to a piece of freeware called HyperEngine-AV, which is quite good for visually rearranging your clips into movies. it doesn't have many special effects, but you can mess with the audio and insert text clips. you can also layer different snippets of film so that they merge and then fade out. nothing too fancy, but perfect for my purposes. when finished you have to export the film as dv format, and i downloaded more freeware called MPEG Streamclip, where you can export it AGAIN as any format you want. i chose MP4 format as it is recommended on the YouTube site.

So that is that!
